Indian actress and politician Urmila Matondkar criticized the Indian government for its desperate attempts to portray that everything is normal in occupied Kashmir.
He took Twitter and said that attempts to show a “pink image of normalcy” in the valley are more than pathetic.
Urmila, a member of the Indian National Congress of the opposition party of India, questioned that in the middle of the scrapping of article 370 and speaks of a bright future “when will this torture of the local population [of occupied Kashmir] and the leaders? ”
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and some other opposition leaders were sent back from Srinagar airport on Saturday when they landed at the busy J&K to oversee the situation.
Speaking to local media recently, the 45-year-old Bollywood star shared that her husband has not been able to contact sick Kashmir parents in the valley for three weeks.
“The issue is not just repealing Article 370. It was done inhumanly. My father in law and my mother in law stay there. Both are diabetic, have high blood pressure. Today is the 22nd, neither I nor my husband have been able to talk to them. We have no idea if they have medications available at home, ”he said.
In Eid-ul-Azha, he sent prayers so that the terrible experience of besieged cashmerers would end soon.
India revoked the dispossession of Article 370 that occupied Kashmir of its special status and imposed a curfew on August 5. There has been a total blockade of communications in the valley for 26 days.
